25 Days of Christmas Tags 2019 and Studio Katia

Hello Everyone! Today Studio Katia's Design Team is joining a great Event - Annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags! It is such a great event, full of inspiration, fun and joined by many wonderful companies and very talented crafters.
As a proud returning sponsor of this Event Studio Katia is giving away TWO $25 CAD Gift Certificates to Studio Katia Store! Make sure to leave comments on all participating blogs for your chance to win. Also, please visit Tracey's Blog for more information about the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event.

For today's Blog Hop I made two tags. I love using craft paper in my Christmas cards and tags. That's why I simply had to make at least one craft tag for today.

First, I die cut out a tag out of craft paper using tag die from DOTTED PATTERNS SET 3
To make the background I used FLORAL SNOWFLAKE STENCIL and Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink. I blended the ink with one of Studio Katia INK BLENDER BRUSHES
Next, I die cut out a word Merry from MERRY POINSETTIA DIES out of white and golden glitter cardstock. I adhered both die cuts slightly off to add a white shadow.

I didn't want to use heat embossing on this tag, so instead I stamped the word Christmas from POINSETTIA BORDER Stamp Set with the same Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink and to make it a brighter white I wrote over it with Marvy Gel Reminisce White Pen.
I added some bakers twine for the top of the tag and adhered cute little bow which I made using a die from SHAKER BALLOON DIE. I die cut it out of white and gold glitter cardstock and adhered both die cuts slightly off, just like with the word Merry.
I felt that the tag needed another white element, and so I added few SNOW CRYSTALS as a finishing touch.

This second tag is different and non-traditional and something I really wanted to make. I love Studio Katia images from POTTED PLANTS Stamp Set and CACTUS HUGS stamp sets! I felt it was unfair to let them wait for some love all winter. And so I decided to make a Christmas tag with some of these images. I really like how it turned and hope you like it, too.

First, I die cut out a tag using tag die from DOTTED PATTERNS SET 3. Next I stamped the images, coloured them with Altenew Artist Markers and die cut out using coordinating dies.
To make the tag look festive I decorated its background using SNOW-FETTI STENCIL and Nuvo Golden Crystal Glimmer Paste. I used the same stencil and paste to add ornaments onto the cacti and the red pot. I used Studio Katia GLUE to adhere the cacti images and foam mounted the potted plot.

I die cut out Falala sentiment out of white and gold mirror cardstock using a die from HAPPY PAWLIDAYS DIES. I glued two die cuts together slightly off for the same shadow effect, as in the previous tag. I adhered the sentiment onto the tag using Studio Katia GLUE. Other adhesive won't work on the glitter paste background.
As a last finishing touch I added some GOLD FOIL PEARLS onto the leaves of the largest plant.

Hope you enjoyed what I made for you today and will use my ideas in creating your own tags.
Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Studio Katia Paws for Kindness Blog Hop

Hello Everyone! Welcome to Studio Katia Paws for Kindness Blog Hop!

We are celebrating a very special cause today. Studio Katia is releasing an exclusive stamp set and coordinating die bundle called Love for Paws Bundle. It features images designed specifically to celebrate the World Kindness Day.

Studio Katia will donate $10 from every sale of this special stamp bundle to Pets in the Classroom, because we truly believe that all children should have the opportunity to learn about the responsibilities, respect for life and being kind to one another.

You should have arrived here from Olga Moss' Blog and this is your last stop on the Hop. Head over to the Studio Katia Blog and tell us if you enjoyed hopping along.

To make the background on my cards I combined BIRTHDAY BALLOONS DUO and NEW Mini Paws Stencil. I ink blended the balloons through one of the stencils first, using Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Oxide Inks and Studio Katia INK BLENDER BRUSHES. Next, I took the 2nd stencil from the Duo and ink blended with Blueprint Sketch Oxide Ink. I carefully wiped the stencil and while I still had it on, I placed Mini Paws Stencil on top and added some Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste. This way I only got the pattern on those darkest balloons. Once the panel was dry I die cut it out with a frame die from  DOTTED PATTERNS SET 1
I stamped and coloured the boy image from Love for Paws Bundle with Altenew Artist markers. Next, I die cut out a hexagon using one of the dies from ELONGATED HEXAGONS die set and ink blended the edges, as it was too clean and too white. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set - sending hugs your way - with brown ink, as I wanted a softer look. I foam mounted the hexagon panel to the side of my background panel and cut off the excess. I die cut out the image with coordinating die and adhered it onto the sentiment panel, so that the leftover hexagon part wouldn't be visible. Next, I mounted everything onto a white card base with a strong double sided tape.

I made background panel for the girl card the same way. I combined BIRTHDAY BALLOONS DUO and NEW Love for Paws Stencil and used Wilted Violet, Milled Lavender, Picked Raspberry and Worn Lipstick Oxide Inks and Studio Katia INK BLENDER BRUSHES and blended colours onto the balloons in a way that they would overlap each other. Next, I added the same Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste onto darkest balloons. Once it was dry, I die cut out a panel using largest die from DOTTED PATTERNS SET 3. I like the rounded corners it makes.
I coloured the girl image from Love for Paws Bundle with Altenew Artist markers and die cut it out with coordinating die. Next, I die cut out an oval using a die from NESTED OVALS die set. I ink blended the edges with some Worn Pistick Oxide Ink. I stamped the sentiment from the set - be silly. be yourself. be kind. - and foam mounted it onto the background panel a little bit to side. I cut off the excess and adhered die cut image above the sentiment. I mounted my panel onto a white card base using strong double sided tape.
I had lots of fun playing with the new stamp set and stencils!

Studio Katia Winter 2019 Release Blog Hop

Hello Everyone! I am so excited to be part of Studio Katia Blog Hop today! We are celebrating Winter 2019 Release with a Blog Hop. This release includes 6 New Clear Stamp Sets and 4 Sets of Coordinating Dies, 4 New Stand Alone Creative Dies, 3 New Stencils and 2 New Glitter Jars! You can see this fantastic release here. I love all the new products!!

You should have arrived from Emily Midgett's Blog and your next stop is Dana Gong.

I made a winter scene card today featuring adorable snowmen from Happy Snowmen Stamp Set. I went a little crazy with masking technique here. lol I had to mask the hats and all the snowmen as well, since I wanted to add golden accents in the background. All the images had to be masked in order for me to heat emboss those golden Christmas trees behind the snowmen. I used WOW! Metallic Gold embossing powder for that.

After I stamped the scene and embossed the trees, I die cut out a panel using a die from Dotted Patterns Set 3. While I had all the masks on, I ink blended few shades of blue ink going light to dark to make a night sky. I also added some stars with golden glitter paste using Snow-fetti stencil and made a starry night by adding lots of dots with golden gel pen. I know the stencil is called Snow-fetti, but to me those snowflakes totally look like stars if you make them with golden glitter paste.

I coloured all the snowmen with Altenew Artist Markers and added some sparkle using clear Wink of Stella. It's hard to show all that shine on pictures, but hopefully you can see some of it on the picture below.

To complete my scene I die cut out another panel out of white and glitter gold cardstock using the same frame die and cut out two pieces from those panels using border die from Trimmings Borders. I ink blended the edges of the white strip, so it wouldn't be just plain white. Next, I glued the white and golden pieces together to add a golden edge to my bottom piece. I really like how that golden stripe ties everything together.

I stamped the sentiment and foam mounted it onto the panel with my winter scene. For even more fun, I added pompoms on the hats of two snowmen. Adhered the panel onto a plain white card base and my card is done!

I made lots of different cards with it. You can see all of them in the Full Release Reveal video. I want to share with you few of my favourites.

Colouring these hibiscus flowers is so much fun! I used one Square Brick stencils and oxide inks to create a background for this card. Images are coloured with Altenew artist markers and I added a heat embossed sentiment on a vellum.

And I just had to share with you this card. Aren't these sharks adorable? We still have snow here in Ottawa, but I am already in a summer mood thanks to the stamps from this release. And how cute are the starfish on the tag? I like that this stamp set let you personalize them to your own taste.

One Stamp Three Ways

Hello Everyone!
Is it too early for Easter preparations? I figured since there is Christmas in July I am most likely too late with my Easter cards. Although I am hoping that I am right on time. ;)

I am sharing these three cards on Studio Katia Blog today. I decided to feature beautiful Floral Cross stamp Katia released last year. Making Easter cards with it is so easy and fun!

Interational Tea Day Blog Hop

Hello everyone! Welcome to National Tea Day Blog Hop!

For this Blog Hop I made a watercolour card using beautiful A Cup of Thanks Stamp Set.

I coloured flowers in a tea cup using Marvy Uchida watercolour pencils. I really like the soft colours I achieved with them.

I die cut the image, did a simple wash on another watercolour paper and foam mounted the image onto a panel.

Lastly I stamped cute sentiment from Studio Katia Sweet Latte set in dark grey ink.

WOW and Studio Katia Collaboration Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to WOW! Embossing Powder and Studio Katia Collaboration Blog Hop!

For the Blog Hop I made a Card and a Tag set. I like making these sets lately. I had lots of fun with Studio Katia stamps and WOW! embossing powders. I decided to make a little winter scene. I used masks here and a diy stencil to make hills. These are very simple, as I wanted the card fit in an envelope and be easy to ship. Since I did a lot of heat embossing, I decided not to do anything time consuming for the houses and did a very simple pencil colouring. I also put some cleat glaze onto windows and heat set it, which made the windows look, as if they have some frost patterns on them.
I filled top part of my card with snowflakes and top of the tag with stars. I like how fun these turned out. :)

Supplies used:

WOW! Embossing powders - Rose Gold, Unicorn Magic, Bright White
Studio Katia HOLIDAY VILLAGE | STAMP SET and POINSETTIA TRIMMINGS | STAMP SET

You can win TWO $25 CAD Gift Certificatesto Studio Katia Store and 6 WOW! Embossing Powder powders of your choice along with a WOW carry caseto store you powders safely in.

Monster Card and Tag

Hello Everyone! I have a Monster Birthday Card and Tag set to share with you today. I combined two Studio Katia stamps sets - Whimsical Town and Monster Bash - to create a fun scene.

As I was stamping images and deciding what mediums I will use to colour my images, I thought I'd make a quick and simple card. Well... things didn't go as planned. I ended up making a card in one of my most favourite techniques - masking! Oh yes, I'm quite crazy about masking. That's why instead of creating a quick and simple card I have a fun scene. And not a day scene, but night scene as well, as I also got a little carried away with the inks. My crafty friends call my Miss Intense for a reason. haha

And I have to admit I do like this set a lot, especially all the sparkles... But let me tell you how I made  the card before I tell you about all the finishing touches.

First I stamped three monsters on a panel I die cut with a die from Dotted Patterns Set 3. This set my latest favourite and I don't even put these dies away I use them so often. After stamping the monsters I covered them with masks and started stamping buildings. I covered all stamped images with masks (I did get carried away lol) and started working on the background. I used distress inks in blue and purple shades to make this intense night sky. To brighten it up a little I added some splashes with white and golden shimmer pens. And once I did that I knew right away what else did my scene need after I coloured all the images with alcohol markers. A lot of sparkle! I used Nuvo Crystal Glaze on couple roofs, monsters' eyes and one of the monster's head. I used Nuvo Glitter Drops to cover a star-shaped sentiment and couple roofs. I also used a clear glitter pen to highlight some small details on whimsical buildings.

Once everything was dry, I foam mounted the sentiment and three monsters. And since I coloured more monsters than I needed, I decided to add one inside of the card.

I couldn't resist making a matching tag. Usually I make two cards that look similar, and are different at the same time. Lately I am into making matching tags. I just can't get enough of that cute tag from Dotted Patterns Set 3. You will definitely be seeing more of card and tag sets from me in the near future. ;) I just love how this little guy turned out!

Hope you were inspired by my projects today! Have a great weekend!

Studio Katia September 2018 Release Blog Hop

Hello Everyone! Welcome to Studio Katia September 2018 Release Blog Hop!

You should have come here from fabulous Rubeena. Your next stop is wonderful Kaja.

For this Blog Hop I created a card and a tag using New A Cup of Thanks Stamp Set and Dotted Patterns Set 3 Creative Dies.
I coloured image on both my card and the tag with Polychromos pencils.
I wanted to make them fun and cheerful, so I decided to go for a yellow background.

I used coordinating die to create a mask. I used Mustard Seed distress ink to ink blend background on the tag. For the card I wanted a little different look, so I only used Mustard Seed on bottom portion of my card, using a strip of masking paper to create a sharp straight line. For the top part I decided to use Lemon Zing ink by SimonSaysStamp and brayering technique. Now, there is not a huge result here, as I wasn’t going for a bold background but rather cheerful, so I only went over my panel few times to have that slight gradient of yellow from darker (not dark, just slightly darker ;)) to light.

I don’t know about you, I usually think of a sentiment in the very last moment. Well not this time. Before I started brayering my background, I die cut word thanks (which is a part of coordinating die set and I love that Katia ads sentiment dies to coordinating sets) out of the masking paper and adhered at the the top right corner of my card panel. After my background was done and I lifted the mask, I got a white word thanks on the yellow background. I love how it looks! I didn’t want the sentiment to steel attention from my gorgeous teacup with flowers and I think this did the trick.

I coloured flowers on the tag and card differently on purpose. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a set. Hope you like what I made for your inspiration and it will help you decide what nee SK products you need in your stash. ;)
